This list of adorable, funny, and fascinating puppy facts will leave your tail wagging. You already know puppies are the ulti-MUTT in cuteness, but there's so much more to learn about these adorable ankle biters. 1.2 Million Puppies Are Born Every Day!
Sorry, human babies, but you're seriously outnumbered. Every day, there are three times more puppies born compared to their furless human counterparts. That's good news for everyone who loves dogs but hates being seated on an airplane next to a screaming infant. State Farm/ Flickr

Puppies Are Born Deaf
Don't even bother blasting Snoop Dog for your newborn puppy, he won't appreciate it. It turns out all puppies are born deaf, as their hearing does not fully develop in the womb. The tables turn quickly, however, because as they get older, their hearing becomes 4 times better than humans! That's how they're able to tell you've opened a bag of chips from 3 miles away. A dog's sense of hearing is so sensitive they're able to detect sounds the human ear cannot. Keep this in mind the next time your dog ignores one of your commands. It's deliberate. Puno 3000/Flickr

A Puppy's Weight Will Double After One Week!
Much like me on vacation, a puppy's body weight will double in as little as 7 days.Puppies' birth weight rapidly increases in their first week of life, and they continue to bulk up until they're adults or get body-shamed into giving up carbs. Sure, it's "cute" and "normal" for a puppy to pork-up, but when I do it I need to "stop eating pizza" and "leave my bed." Ridiculous! DaPuglet/Flickr

Dalmatians Are Covered in Age Spots!
Did you know Dalmatian puppies are born completely white? Their signature black and white spots develop as they get older.Thankfully, Dalmatians don't get hung up on the aging process the way humans do. They simply don't have the time! They're too busy working at fire stations and outsmarting cruel old ladies with 100 of their closest friends. They can't constantly obsess about looking younger and hotter. Thank goodness, because I'm really not ready to see a Dalmatian with a BBL. candyblossomx3/Flickr

Some Puppies Are Born Green
Dalmations may be born white, but did you know that some puppies can be born GREEN? No, their Moms didn't go too hard on St. Patrick's Day, this rare phenomenon occurs when pale-colored pups become exposed to a green pigment in the womb. It's the same pigment that makes human bruises appear green.Unlike diamonds and the TV show Grey's Anatomy, green puppies are not forever. The Kermit-color gradually fades as they grow up. This unique condition is not indicative of a puppy developing Hulk-like tendencies, although the way puppies grow and bite, they'll be bursting out of their clothes and ripping their toys to shreds too. It's not easy being green, but it's pretty chill being an adorable pup. Joe/Flickr

Puppies Get Jealous
Speaking of being green with envy, did you know dogs are one of the few species that get jealous?Just as a human child gets envious when their mother dotes on another kid, puppies get P.O.'d when their parent pets another pupper! (Say that five times fast.) According to my dog, the best way to combat jealousy in your puppy is to forsake all other animals (and humans too, for that matter) and focus 100% of your love, affection, and treat-distribution on them, and them alone. Just a suggestion! Missy Baker

Puppy Piles Aren't Just Cute
Have you ever wondered why newborn puppies sleep in a pile? It's not just because they know humans find it stinkin' adorable, although I mean, COME ON! Fur babies sleep in a heap because they're deeply in touch with their ancestral roots - much like someone writing a college application essay. As a holdover from their wolf days in the wild, puppies curl up in a ball when they sleep to protect their organs from predator attacks and overzealous belly rubbers.Even the pampered pups of today are pack animals. Sleeping in a cuddly pile helps them bond with their littermates and keeps them warm and safe. I'm 100% convinced that 20 minutes at the bottom of a big ole puppy pile would cure everything that's wrong with me, both mentally and physically. Just waiting for my doctor to write me a pup-scription. Karen Conner

Puppies Are Considered Adults At One-Year-Old
Puppies can achieve in one year what my ex couldn't in 40 - becoming an adult.Depending on the breed, puppies typically become adult dogs between their first and second birthdays, causing many pet parents to question why the freeloader living in their house doesn't start chipping in on rent and utilities. Science be damned, as far as I'm concerned, all dogs stay sweet baby puppies forever. Except for the ones that become Mayor. They're fully grown and tired of your sh*t. Bosco/Odd News Show

Puppies Sleep Up To 20 Hours A Day!
It's no wonder these baby puppies can't hold down a job. They're too busy snoozing! On average, puppies sleep for up to 20 hours a day. They use the remaining four hours to chew up your slippers and ruin your carpet. Puppies are also known to have vivid dreams. About what? No one knows. Perhaps a world without vacuums? Karen Conner

Puppies Are The Best!
You've learned a lot of fascinating puppy facts today, but this is the only one you really need to know...Puppies friggin rule!
