Every little girl dreams of a fairy tale wedding, but this bride’s Prince Charming turned out to be the Duke of Dorkdom.

Much to his new wife’s chagrin, newlywed Jacob Wright donned a showstopping accessory during his recent wedding in South Jordan, Utah. No, he wasn’t trying to bring back the cumberbund, this groom sported a high-end virtual reality headset. You know how the old saying goes, something borrowed, something blue, something to help you completely disassociate on the most important day of your life.

Wright, a nerd, had been trying to persuade his soon-to-be wife, Cambree, to let him wear his Apple Vision Pro headset at their upcoming nuptials for a while. “I’d been, like, trying to convince her like, it’d be so fun” Wright explained eloquently.

Yeah, it would be fun… for him. While everyone else is stuck listening to boring pledges of ever-lasting love and exchanging expensive gold jewelry, this guy gets to feel like he’s snowboarding down a Black Diamond with Danny DeVito!

Cambree was initially hesitant to let her groom do the 2024 version of putting a bag over a woman’s head, but Jacob decided to just go for it. He, wisely, waited until after Cambree was legally bound to love him for as long as they both shall live or at least until she could run off with a jock.

When Wright shared the super cool photo of himself wearing super cool VR goggles on his wedding day, it quickly went viral. Unsurprisingly, the internet had opinions. Cambree’s DMs were flooded with messages like “Dump him, sis,” “Boy bye,” and “I’ve been trying to reach you about your car’s extended warranty.”

“I was shocked to wake up to a bunch of people messaging me telling me to divorce the man I settled for, I mean married."

Thousands of people noticed the bride’s less-than-thrilled expression at the wedding, while the groom, it seems was busy noticing something else.

“I’ll never forget the way she looked on our wedding day,” groom Jacob Wright gushed. “Her skin-tight red dress and huge jugs will forever be etched in my heart.”

Cambree dismissed doubts that her RBF (Resting Bride Face) was a reaction to her new husband’s futuristic headgear. “I wasn’t mad at all. I was just cold,” claimed Cambree. You’d be cold too if your groom started playing with toys two seconds after saying, “I do.”

The happy couple remains unfazed by the haters. While the honeymoon was likely less than satisfying for one of them, these newlyweds report they are still head-over-goggles in love! Whether in this reality or the virtual one, The Wrights are thrilled to begin their new life together as husband and annoyed wife.
