King's Great Escape

A clever and mischievous husky named King embarked on a daring midnight escape at Lost Our Home Pet Rescue in Tempe, Arizona. Caught on the shelter’s security cameras, the pup’s adventure shows his remarkable skills and the dedication of a compassionate police officer nicknamed “Mr. Clean.”

The saga began when King, a husky with a penchant for mischief, managed to break out of his kennel. The shelter’s surveillance cameras captured the agile pup standing on his hind legs and skillfully using his front paws to open the kennel door. The escape set off alarms within the facility, alerting the Tempe Police Department to the canine commotion.

Once free, King turned the shelter into his playground, as footage revealed the playful pup exploring different rooms, knocking over office items, and even attempting to free other dogs by opening various doors. His midnight adventure included discovering a stash of dog food, leading to a late-night snack that left the shelter’s office in disarray.

As the alarms persisted the Tempe Police Department, with its 24-hour access to the shelter, arrived at the scene. The responding officer, affectionately nicknamed “Mr. Clean” by the shelter, entered with a mix of amusement and purpose. The officer apprehended King and took on the duty of cleaning up the aftermath of the mischievous pup’s escapade. Lost Our Home Pet Rescue praised the Tempe Police Department for their response, describing the incident as “the cutest arrest ever.”

The shelter shared the footage of the breakout as part of a fundraiser called “Sit, Stay, Brunch.” The video quickly went viral, attracting widespread attention and 400k views. King’s adorable antics captured the hearts of viewers, leading to increased support for the non-profit pet rescue. Since the incident in November, the Houdini husky has found a forever home, and the shelter continues its mission with 52 other dogs and cats awaiting adoption.
